Come join my wife and me at our Seneca Lake camp in Hector, N.Y, for a general getaway for one adult TCSC member and up to 3 guests, preferably significant other, direct family, or other club members per weekend. Please sign up by Friday before event date each week as once I am at the lake my electronic or social media activity becomes extremely limited or "unplugged".
Prefer not to include or bring in non-member friends or non-immediate family due to liability. The adult registrant will be group leader and responsible for any non-member guests. The goal is to provide a nice outdoor time while still making social distancing possible to our direct members and direct family, hence the limited registration each week and guest restrictions.
We usually arrive late Friday afternoon or into the night. Will be coordinated each week to each registrant, then we leave by Sunday afternoon weather depending. Each week registrant will have the opportunity to stay on site via a tent or at neighboring campground, or local bed and breakfast, or only make it a day trip.
Exception black out dates include:
Places to Stay if desired, if not tenting on our site.
Things to do:
Each weekend can be customized as the registrant desires, allowed to bring up to 3 guests for a total of 4 including the registrant. This is done as best way to control social distancing, so the registrant can chose whom they wish to be near.
Get together with other TCSC members for a fun relatively easy ride along Onondaga Lake in Liverpool/Syracuse.
Watch a video of the park.
Meet at the Griffin Visitor Center at 10:30 a.m. for a 14-17 round trip ride on flat pavement. Wear a mask until we begin riding and maintain a socially safe distance distance from other riders during the trip.
Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, weather appropriate clothing, first aid supplies for yourself and your bike. We'll stop about halfway to take a snack break.
Afterwards, we'll head over to Heid's of Liverpool for an outdoor lunch. Heid's has been around since 1917 and is a central New York landmark that serves grilled Hofmann hot dogs and more.
Note: Friday, Oct. 2, 2020 will be the rain date for this trip.
For more information, email Ingrid Jordak or text 607-221-4606.
TCSC members have been maintaining their section of Route 17 in Vestal for more than two decades. Help the club keep up the good work while socially distancing.
The group meets at 7:45 a.m. at Winans Ave. and Vestal Road in Vestal, NY. Park on Winans Ave. At 8 a.m. we will head out in socially distanced groups of 2-3 to clean up our section of Route 17 until 9:30 a.m.
Breakfast afterward is TBD. Bring a chair in case it's a takeout tailgate.
Rain Date is Oct. 18, 2020!
Please wear sturdy work shoes or hiking boots and your own heavy-duty work gloves if you wish. Dress according to the weather. Long sleeves and pants are recommended. The county provides bags. We will also have work gloves and safety vests available.
Directions: From Rt 17 Eastbound, take Exit #68 for Old Vestal Road. At the end of the ramp, turn right on Pearl Street, turn right on Old Vestal Road, pass Fourth Avenue and turn right on Winans Avenue. (On the drive here, you'll go under Rt 17 and pass the entrance ramp to Rt 17 which will be on your left. This is where we'll start our clean-up.)

Accommodations Reservations are limited to 10 people this year with wiggle room for maybe two more. Four rooms can accommodate two people and have a toilet, sink and shower. One room could accommodate up to four people if social distancing is not an issue. Guests in one room will have to a share bathroom with guests in another room. There are also two half bathrooms in the downstairs with a toilet and sink. All rooms have single spring beds and bunk beds with a wool blanket and pillow. You'll need to bring towels, a sleeping bag or sheets and probably your own pillow or at least a pillowcase.
All of the rooms, including bedrooms, in the Main Lodge are heated. WiFi is available on the property, but cell service is spotty. AT&T seems to work well. This is an opportunity to unplug and reconnect with nature and friends.
The lodge's common areas are spacious and comfortable, but trip participants will have to agree on social distancing guidelines when inside the lodge. We will also have to engage in more cleaning and sanitizing of touched surfaces. All necessary products and materials are provided for this.
Cost $70 per person for two nights and $90 for three nights. Does not include meals. There are complete kitchen facilities to prepare meals. Bring your own breakfasts and plan your own lunches. In the past, we have planned potluck dinners for Saturday and Sunday nights. I will ask the group for input on this. Bring your own choice of beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Plan your own dinner if you're coming up Friday or maybe we can order takeout from a restaurant in Inlet. Eating out may also be possible.
RSVP Your $30 online deposit reserves your room on a first-come, first-served basis. Each club member must register individually. See the trip policy for information on cancellations.

Deluxe day-trip that includes transportation, breakfast, lift ticket, apres ski party!
Our Valetine's Day trip to Bristol in 2020 was a big hit, so we hope to do it again for 2021.
So far, a few other central New York ski clubs said they want to participate again, too.
Details are somewhat in flux due to coronavirus concerns.
