D&H Bike Trip

Ah! Spring has sprung (ish)! And what does that bring?
It brings flowers, birds, fresh air, and the ski club out on their bikes!
Join Kevin Walters for a bike ride on the historic D&H Railroad Trail!

Date, Time, Start location:

Saturday, June 6th @ 10 AM
Cables General Store, Uniondale, PA; about 2-3 miles west of Elk Mountain.

Parking behind store. Bathroom in store. Trailhead just East of store past caboose. Use your route app entering location above.

Plan on arriving no later than 9:45 AM.

Bike Route and distance:

15 miles round trip north to Ararat Trailhead and return. 30 minute layover at Ararat for snack refresher prior to return. Port-a-lav at Ararat Trailhead.

Trail condition:

Crushed gravel suitable for hybrid, mountain, or bikes with wider tires similar to hybrid size.

Equipment:

Bike helmet required. Ample water, sun screen, bug repellent, flat repair kit recommended.

Gather at Cables Store afterwards for socializing and refreshment.

Adverse Weather:

A "Go/No-Go" email at 8am if threatening. Rain-date is Sunday, June 7th.

Safety precautions:

Please register if participating and let me know if you cancel.

Do not ride alone.

We will be departing at 10am sharp and have a safety rider trailing group until ride completion.
